Kay Brooks has been a Sewing Retailer, Educator, Author, Product Designer and Manufacturer for the Home Sewing Industry over two decades. Fifteen years ago she discovered she was not satisfied with existing Home Embroidery Products, and set out on a mission to build the perfect line of for The Home Industry. She called it Floriani and today it is one of the most recognized names in the Industry, both Nationally and Internationally. Since introducing Floriani for embroidery, Kay has created a line of similar products for Jenny Haskins, and a line of Quilting Products for Alex Anderson. Sewing School attendees will love her down to earth relaxed presentation and will be amazed at what they themselves did not know or fully understand about perfect embroidery. She has been dubbed, The “Stabilizer Goddess” by many who have her workbook, or purchased her videos. This teacher of teachers and manufacturers, is a special treat at the Sewing School conferences, but be prepared for the sweet southern accent!

Hope Yoder

Hope Yoder is America’s leading lady in Digital Cutting, a book author, designer and sewing instructor whose work has been featured in Sew News and Creative Machine Embroidery magazines.

Her books are Embellished Heirloom Treasures and Victorian Dreams Heirloom Shirt.    She founded Designs By Hope Yoder, Inc. in 2005 and is currently the face of Craft-N-Cut software,  a digital cutting and designing program created for all brands of digital cutters. Hope loves to travel nationally, teaching specialty techniques in hands-on workshops.

Judy Fredenburgh

Judy Fredenburgh is a professional educator for sewing, embroidery, quilting and crafting. Judy’s teaching style takes new technologies and inspires students of all levels to find their unique creativity to exhilarate their sewing and crafting passions. Judy has more than 30 years of experience working in the Sewing Industry. As a former Corporate Educator, Event Coordinator, and Retail Store Manager, and a small business owner herself, Judy has a well-rounded understanding of the Sewing Industry.

Judy’s passion for all things sewing started in southern California in 1961 when her Grandmother gave Judy her first sewing machine. More than 50 years later, Judy thrives on sharing the sewing bug at locations across the United States! Whether helping others create sewing projects from new crafting techniques or designing precious family keepsakes for generations to come, Judy brings inspiration, passion and an absorbable teaching style to her students.

Kathryn Ferrel

Meet Kathryn Ferrel of Windsor, CO. Kathy is a National Education Co-coordinator for RNK Distributing. She has a background in Educational Technology and recently retired from a career that included 13 years as a middle school teacher, 12 years’ experience in professional development for educators, and 2 years’ experience as a technology trainer for a global software company. She is a certified educators and has formerly served as a Bernina Software Educator in her local area. Kathy is looking forward to helping attendees at this Sewing School learn how to enjoy their software for better embroidery results.

Martie Sandell

Introducing Martie Sandell, will be leading Janome Software Owners in a class designed to educate the beginner software user as well as the advanced in simple steps of design editing and creation.

Martie has served as an Industry Educator two Sewing Machine Manufacturers and has been a regular contributor to trade and craft magazines, sharing her sewing knowledge while encouraging creativity in others.  Her expertise found its way to the Internet, when she began two online sewing/embroidery groups. Her whimsical appliqué and surface embellishment designs have appeared in magazine advertisements and as printed cut-and-sew fabric panels. Martie is no stranger to teaching advanced technology in software that has helped thousands of hobbyist from coast to coast and around the world. She says…“Your creativity is only stitches away.”

Cookie Gaynor

Introducing Cookie Gaynor, National Educational Coordinator for RNK Distributing. Cookie is a certified educator with 30+ years of sewing, and design experience. Cookie loves machine embroidery and RNK is very excited to have her be a part of the National Hands-On Sewing School® Education Team. As a national instructor, Cookie has taught machine embroidery and sewing classes at dealer trainings and events throughout the country. She is certified in several digitizing software brands including Brother and Babylock, and those attendees who own either will be delighted to have had the opportunity to learn from her. Cookie has made several appearances on the PBS sewing show, “It's Sew Easy” and is a featured embroidery instructor with two very popular recorded digitizing classes: Artistic Digitizing and Digitizing Machine Embroidery Designs.

Cookie’s smile, warm personality and sense of humor will set you at ease while she shares the knowledge and easy to learn skills for machine embroidery success.

Cookie lives in Georgia with her husband and their two totally adorable poodles.

Debra Bohn

Introducing Debra Bohn of Arizona, National Education Coordinator for RNK Distributing.

Debra was destined to sew and quilt. As a child she was immersed in the art by a mother that loved sewing and crafting, but the inspiration to create was also inherited from her paternal grandmother who worked for the New York Ballet. Debra developed a strong love for all types of sewing and quilting but when she was introduced to machine embroidery she knew it was her destiny! She has severed as an educator for Viking/Pfaff Software as has taught National Conventions attended by Viking and Pfaff retailers. 

You will love her relaxing feel good classes and her ability to explain techniques that will not only improve your skills, but make your sewing, quilting, and embroidery experiences more enjoyable.
